Hello, I am currently building a flatbed for my 1999 f250 7.3L Super Duty XLT and I am adding lights to the headache rack and tail lights but i do not want to cut/splice into the factory harness for the flat bed lights in the event that i go back to a factory type bed. I am looking for something i can use as the starter plug to get things going with. Any advice and product suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

In order to achieve your goal of not splicing into the factory trailer wiring harness we are basically going to create a wiring harness for the flatbed which would plug into the factory trailer connector. In order to do this we are first going to want a junction box, part # 3430001-JBK. Once we have the junction box we can then run the wires from the headache rack and tail lights to this with part # 16-4B-1 (per foot). After this is completed the only other thing we need to do is attach a trailer connector, part # W787268.
If you don't have a 4-way trailer connector on your 1999 Ford F-250 to attach to the above then you will also need part # HM40155.
