Out-of-the-Way Brake Controller Recommendation for 2012 Toyota Tundra With Factory 7-Way

2012 tundra brake controller advice Hi, I reviewed some of the advice provided on your website. This has been very helpful. I would like to purchase a proportional brake controller for 2012 Toyota Tundra double cab with tow package and the 4.7 L V-8 engine. I plan to tow somewhere in the vicinity of three or 4000 pounds for a travel trailer. I would like to purchase a controller ? P3 or other recommendations?, and the adapter cords. Several folks noted, on a tundra website, that they’ve located the device in one of the small cubbies on the mid dashboard rather than securing on the right side of the drivers side footwell. They did this by splicing wires together. Is there an adapter that is long enough to reach the mid areas in front of shifter or in front of cup holders, or would purchasing 2 adapters solve that problem? Thank you

The Prodigy P3 # 90195 or P2 # 90885 are really great brake controllers, but to mount them out of the way so you don't have the unit hitting your knee or in the way under the dash you may need to splice together two of the Plug-In Wiring Adapters # 3040-P, as I'm not exactly certain what the length you need is to mount the controller where you are wanting. These adapters are 32" long, which should tell you if you need to get a pair of them or if they have enough length for you to mount the controller where you'd like.

There is a better option for a controller which won't interfere with you at all, the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180. The reason I really like this controller is because it will be completely out of the way and there will be nothing in the cab of your 2015 Tundra; you only need to set up the app with your smartphone and that's how you control it. There will be no need to drill or splice or do anything to mount a unit - just plug in the Echo to your 7-way and you get a simple to use and highly effective brake controller that won't take up any room inside the cab of your Tundra.

I have added a link to the written instructions of these controllers as well as links to video reviews for you to check out.
