Can the Curt Echo Brake Controller C51180 Be Installed Perpendicular To the Direction Of Travel

Question:
I have a 2008 silverado 2500 with a broken integrated brake controller with a plug in the bed of the truck for my gooseneck trailer. The plug is not in line with the truck it is located in the left side of the bed. This would mean the unit would be plugged in from right to left perpendicular to the travel of the vehicle instead of the shown plugs of back to front parallel to the direction of the moving vehicle Can I still use this if I used the plug located in the bed of my truck?

Yes, the orientation of the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 does not matter therefore it can be used with the in-bed 7-way, perpendicular to the direction of travel, without issue. There are actually plenty of others who use the Curt Echo with a gooseneck/5th wheel trailer and it works just fine. There also won't be any issue using the Curt Echo to bypass the factory brake controller either and this is an excellent choice for this task.
