Hitch Extender to Prevent Trailer Jackknifing When Backing
Updated 08/24/2019 | Published 08/23/2019 >
Question:
I have a 2011 2500 6.6 diesel pulling a Sandpiper 30foot trailer. My problem is that the hitch with the equalizer weight distribution system does not let me let me back in tight spaces without hitting my truck bed. I was thinking about adding your 2.5 7inch extension but see different answers on the qanda area. Is this an option or should I just live with the problem. Thanks

If you're backing into tight spots where the trailer is almost jackknifed, the best thing to do would be to remove the spring bars from your weight distribution system before backing. Everything should work fine at that point.
The # HR26 extender actually reduces the hitch opening to a 2 inch, which wouldn't work for you.
