Will Tow Ready 7 Way Trailer Connector Vehicle Tester Work With RV Freightliner Chassis 7-Way
Question:
I connected the #20117 7 way LED tester to my RV Freightliner chassis trailer lights receiver. The receiver is a Chrysler part #56038366AB. With the engine running I turned on the left turn signal. The testers LT light illuminated, However the receiver pin for the left turn at 9 oclock and the testers LT indicator is at 11 oclock? Are the pins for both supposed to be the same location? Both at 9 or 11 oclock? The RV right side signal was turned on and both the receiver and the tester pins are at 3 oclock. When brakes are applied both the LT and RT tester lights illuminate, as well as testers 12V? When the running lights were turned on testers TM illuminated, however the receivers tail lights pin is at 11 Oclock. Do I have the right tester? Obviously Im confused because I believe the tow dolly trailers wiring connector does correspond to the RV receivers pins.

Expert Reply:
The 7 Way Trailer Connector Vehicle Tester part # C73NR is pinned to test the vehicle side 7-way with a standard pin out. The BK function code should illuminate when you press the brakes not the LT and RT functions.
