How to Source Longer Cable for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # 331-EBRH-ACCV2
Published 08/15/2019 >
Question:
The installation guide says the RJ45 cable from the controller to the knob is 1 meter 3 feet. If I should need a longer one, can I use a standard RJ45 network cable? or is it a custom wire layout? Is that wire layout detailed anywhere as I could make one, worst case.

Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # 331-EBRH-ACCV2 includes a 3-foot wiring harness to connect between the control knob and the main controller box. This cable is a standard RJ45 network cable and you can locally source a longer one if you like but Redarc recommends adding a ferrite bead on the end of the cable near the control unit to prevent radio interference (RFI) if a longer cable is used.
