Hi, What would be your Snow Tire Chain Recommendation for 235/50R18 tires on a 2012 Volkswagen Tiguan? I also dont want my tires to end up scratched/damaged at the rim. The Spikes Spider are not really an option, too expensive. Thanks.

Anytime you put snow chains on a wheel there is always a chance that the rim could get scratched up. The Thule Snow Chains # TH2004205104 that your referenced have anti-scratch nylon bumpers to protect the rims, but there is still a chance that the rims could get scratched up.

If you want the absolute best option for snow chains that would nearly eliminate the possibility for your rims getting scratched you would want Thule K-Summit Chains # TH02230K45. The chains sit on the tire treads only, leaving your wheels untouched.
