Greetings. I have a 2019 Mini Cooper convertible and am searching for a way to take my bikes with me. I don't think a trunk rack will work but maybe? Any other options? Help? Please?

You are correct that there aren't any trunk-mounted bike racks available for your 2019 Mini Cooper convertible. This is simply because there isn't a good way to securely attach one. The good news though is that you can transport your bikes using a trailer hitch and hitch-mounted carrier, which is actually the method I prefer (even if there was a trunk option for you) because it eliminates any vehicle contact from the rack or bikes to keep the factory paint looking new and also maintains rear cargo access.

Starting with the hitch, the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7290 will work perfectly. This will provide you with a 1-1/4 inch receiver to use with a rack and its hidden-crosstube design allows for a sleek, OEM-like appearance from the rear (see attached image).

I have included an install video that you can use for reference if you decide to mount the hitch yourself.

Then for the bike rack, a really great option is the Thule Helium # TH9042PRO. One of the main reasons I like this rack so much is its almost impossibly light weight. At just 19 pounds it's extremely easy to install and remove but it still can handle two bikes that weigh up to 37.5 pounds each. It can tilt away from the vehicle to allow for easy trunk access and the arms can fold flat when it's not in use.

I do just recommend adding the Hitch Lock # HL1 and a cable lock like # e98891 to help secure your investments.
