The dual hitch receiver with the highest tongue weight capacity is the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544, which has a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out.

However, it is important to note that any adapter will reduce your hitch capacity by 50 percent, including the tongue weight. For example, if you had a trailer hitch with a 600 lb tongue weight capacity and you used one of these adapters, the tongue weight capacity would then be 300 lbs. Or if your hitch had a tongue weight capacity of 400 lbs and you used one of these adapters then the tongue weight capacity would be reduced to 200 lbs.

Hello Kyle. Trying to understand your comments about tongue weight reduction when using a hitch adapter. Are you saying that a hitch with a tongue weight rating of say, 600 lbs is reduced to 300 lb capacity as soon as the adapter is installed? If this is the case, the hitch adapter with a tongue weight rating of 500 lbs would be rendered unusable in that situation, correct?

@Michael if the hitch adapter has a higher capacity it will be limited by the reduced rating of the hitch. You're always limited to the lowest rated component. So in your example, the tongue weight of the hitch becomes 300 lbs, which becomes the adapter limit even though the adapter is capable of more. I suppose you might say it is unusable if you need the full 500 lb capacity of the adapter but that often isn't the case. If you need the full capacity of your hitch I recommend using the # PH73NR. The stacked receiver design won't reduce the tongue weight capacity. This has a maximum tongue weight of 2,000 lbs so you will be limited by your trailer hitch/vehicle.
