Does Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller Need Constant Phone Service to Work
Updated 07/30/2019 | Published 07/29/2019 >
Question:
Do you need good constant cellular service in order for the Curt wireless brake controller to work? I live in an are where service is intermittent, so I worry that if I lose phone service that the brake controller will not work.

I have some great news for you, which is that the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 does not need constant service to work.
The Echo does require an internet connection in order to be set up but if you do lose connectivity you will absolutely still have trailer brakes. You would lose the manual activation but otherwise the Echo will continue to function at the programmed settings so there is no worry that you'll be driving and suddenly not have any type of brakes, you will still be safe even with intermittent service.
I have added a link to a video review of the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 for you to check out as well.
