How Much Does Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit Weigh for 2017 Ford Fiesta

Question:

Im trying to keep track of my GCW of my motor home and tow vehicle so I do not exceed my GCWR gross combined weight rating. I weighed my motor home and I know the curb weight of my towed vehicle a 2017 Ford Fiesta based on information from Ford. I need to add the weight of the base plate to the curb weight but I have not been able to find information on its weight. Could you please provide the weight of this base plate RM-524438-5? And please specify if that includes the weight of the removable draw bars. Thank you.

The Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-524438-5 has a shipping weight of 47 lbs (including the removable arms) so the actually weight will be about 44 lbs. Please note that this kit only fits non-ST models of the 2017 Ford Fiesta without EcoBoost.

For a complete flat towing setup you will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, vehicle tow bar wiring, a supplemental braking system, and possibly a high-low adapter. If you do not have all of these components just let me know and I can make some additional recommendations for you as well as the weights of those products so you can keep track of your GCWR.
