Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller Still Flashes Red After I Fixed Wiring Issue

Question:
I have a curt wireless brake controller from etrailer which was working great. Then when I replaced the battery on the trailer I stupidly got the terminals the wrong way round. When I connected the brake controller to the truck there was a short and the fuse on the trailer blew. Replaced the fuse and connected the battery correctly. Brake controller powers up and I can connect via Bluetooth but when trailer and truck connected I get flashing red. Not sure if unit is damaged or another problem. Any advice?

It sounds like the Curt Echo part # C51180 is still detecting the short in the wiring that you mentioned. If you have unplugged the echo and plugged it back in and still getting the wiring error, it is possible you may still have a wiring issue on the trailer. You may want to double check all of your connections and make sure your wiring is properly grounded to a clean bare metal surface as well. According to Curt, once the issue is fixed the flashing red wiring error should have went away unless the short in the trailer wiring shorted out the Echo which is possible. In that case the Echo needs to be replaced.
