Question:
Hello: I am wondering whether a C17073 will fit an older CP equalizer hitch with a 1.5 inch diameter bar and a chain connector? Somebody stole my original set. The sway control with the original hitch was a CP 34715 RH. Best,

Since weight distribution (WD) systems use spring bars that are tailored to their specific products I would be very surprised if the Replacement Spring Bar for Curt MV Weight Distribution System # C17073 is compatible. Even if the diameter is the same, the way the bar connects to the head of the WD unit is almost always different.
I tried looking up "CP Weight Distribution" on the internet but the only thing I was able to find is that this must be a company that went out of business years ago because only a few people had heard of them. If this is the case then I highly recommend upgrading to a newer system so that replacement parts are more easily accessible in the future.
If your current system is rated for 1,000 lbs tongue weight (TW) then I recommend using the Curt TruTrack # C17500 because it has the same TW rating and it uses trunnion bars which have integrated sway control and allow you to backup your trailer without disengaging the friction sway control like you have to do with the Husky system you currently use. If you'd rather stick with the spring bars that use the chains then the Curt MV # C17052 is an excellent choice. We even have it available with a friction sway control as part # C17062 if you need to upgrade that as well.
