Question:

I want to mount the thule hulivator to my dodge caravan. It already has a factory mounted rack. How can a cross bar be mounted that will overhang the side to allow the hulivator to down. thank you

I do have an option for you but there would be no way to use the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier part # TH898 on your 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The reason for this is because the Thule Hullavator will not work with your factory roof rack and none of our aftermarket roof racks which you need will work in place of your factory roof rack.

That said, if you need help lifting your kayak onto the roof I highly recommend the Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist part # MPG114MD-351XL as your next best option. If you have space, you could also carry another kayak with Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier part # MPG114MD. These carriers come with all the tie-downs you need and it will be the least strenuous option we have for you.
