Can Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller be Used without Cell Phone Reception from Service Provider

Question:
Do I need cell phone reception for pairing and operation of the controller? I live very rural and dont have cell service where I live. Thanks!

This is a really good question, but no you do not need cell reception for the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180 to be able to connect to your phone. It uses BlueTooth to connect to your phone which is totally independent of a cell phone provider.
In the unlikely event your phone would lose connection to the Echo it retains the settings and would still function too.
