Question:
my side rails on my trailer slope downward on the last 3 feet of the trailer. Do I need to square up the end side rails on my trailer or will the gorilla lift work by being about 3 feet from the back of the trailer?

Expert Reply:
In order for the Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist # GL1 to work properly it needs to install on trailer side rails that are totally horizontal and not sloping down. The height of the rails needs to be 12 to 24 inches from the bed of the trailer as well. If it's possible to modify your trailer to fit these specs this would only way to fit this kit.
The side rails can be square-tube, round-tube, or angle-iron.
