What PSI Is Correct For Trailer Tires

Updated 05/21/2019 | Published 05/19/2019

Question:

I have an enclosed snowmobile trailer the tongue sticker calls for st205/75r15 tires with 50psi . I recently replaced all the tires with st205/75r15 but they are load range d instead of load range c. The tires say 65 psi max inflation. Should I run them at 50 or 65 psi? The tire dealer that sold me the tires told me there was no problem running these tires.

Expert Reply:

On all trailer tires, such as the Karrier ST205/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range D # AM10245 you always want to inflate the tire to the maximum cold psi, which on this tire as well as yours, is 65 psi. Doing this will give you the best performance, allowing the tire to wear more slowly and give you optimum gas mileage.

I have added a link to a help article on trailer tires that I also recommend checking out.
