Need a new boat trailer winch, what can you recommend for the Shelby 5403?

For a winch with a similar capacity as the Shelby you have now that will work great I'd recommend the Fulton # F142102. This winch comes with a 20 inch strap, has a 1,100 lb capacity and has a solid drum-gear construction which means it will last a long time. Unlike other winches that have a drum and gear that are riveted together, which leaves space in between, this winch's solid construction ensures there are no spaces that water or debris can get into. Because water can't get in, there is no risk of damaging corrosion between the drum and gear,
