Determining which line is the return is pretty easy.
First, locate the transmission lines. Then, start the vehicle, and place the transmission in drive for 10 seconds. Place the transmission in park, and turn off the vehicle. Feel both transmission lines. The cooler of the two lines will be the return line, which is the one you would use to install the transmission cooler.
If you know which model of transmission is in your Murano, you can use the provided table to look up the location of the return line.
I have provided links to our FAQ pages about transmission coolers, as well as a video showing a transmission cooler being installed. The video shows an installation on a different vehicle than yours, but the procedure would be similar.
