Does 8th Wire of Truck's 7-Way Wiring that Carries Brake Signal Need to Be Used
Published 04/11/2019 >
Question:
The 8th wire only works when the trailer brake controller is pressed, and only at half the brightness of the main trailer brake wire. What pin do I hookit up to, or do I just ignore it?

As long as all of the trailer lighting functions are active on your trailer and the brake controller is functioning like it should then you can tape up the extra wire and not use it. It almost sounds like it could be for a third brake light for a camper shell as older Chevy trucks sometimes had a circuit for that pre-ran.
