Comparing Hollywood Racks Bike Racks for 50 lb E-Bikes with Fenders
Updated 04/09/2019 | Published 04/08/2019 >
Question:
I am trying to compare the HR1450Z and the HLY84FR Is it only the weight rating that differs? 50 lbs vs 80 lbs? I have two E-Bikes that weigh about 48 lbs each without battery. They have fenders so I like the frame holding bar over the wheel holding bar. I have a class 3 hitch. Which one would you recommend out of these 2, or maybe even a different brand. Thanks

The only differences between these two racks is the weight capacity, like you mentioned. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Rack # HLY84FR has an 80 lb per bike capacity and can accommodate up to 5" wide tires, whereas the Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z has a 50 lb per bike weight capacity and can accommodate up to 3" wide tires.
Of these two I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Rack # HLY84FR because of its 80 lb per bike capacity, which leaves you wiggle room as you mentioned your bikes were "about 48 lbs each" without the battery. This is an easy-to-use bike rack that will work on your bikes with frames because of it secures your bikes by the frame with ratcheting hooks. These hooks also lock to secure your bikes to the rack and it has a locking hitch pin to secure the rack to your vehicle.
