Question:

The 1 3/8 stainless steel seal ring how does it fit over the the worn area on spindle, if it’s pitted and leaks but is not undersize? What is the inner dia of ring that goes over the worn seal area on spindle?

The inner stainless steel ring included with the Spindle Grease Seal Set # BB60005 has an inside diameter of 1.0645 inches (and an outside diameter of 1.375 inches).

This ring is designed to install on the spindle for the grease seal to ride on once the hub is in place. I have attached a great installation video that shows exactly how each piece from the kit is installed. This setup allows for free movement and reduced leakage for a longer-lasting seal. It is not however meant to repair a damaged spindle.

If the spindles on your trailer are pitted and leaking then I highly recommend replacing them altogether. I have attached a link that will take you to our available selection that you can look through.
