Equal-i-Zer Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Lance 21 Foot Trailer that Weighs 5.5k

Published 03/21/2019

Question:

I am checking out wdh / anti sway hitches for my Taco, because it sounds like I would be a fool to tow much without one. Equalizer looks good to me, I will be towing a Lance 21 foot, 4100 dry, 5500 loaded travel trailer with tandem axles. I have read good reviews on Andersen but looks like u dont handle?? What do u suggest ? which Equalizer hitch, Husky?? Thanks

Equal-i-Zer weight distribution systems are by far the best option of what you listed. Many report the Andersen systems don't work well and the Husky systems are solid, but just not as effective as the Equal-i-Zer brand.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.

So for a trailer that will weigh between 4,000 and 5,500 lbs the best system is the part # EQ37060ET which has a tongue weight range of between 200 lbs - 600 lbs.
