Question:
Studied video on gopower 6 panel kit. #1 needs 2 controllers 4 panels going to 1 controller 2 panels to other controller. Can I add the 2 extra panels later on 2nd controller or is that much harder doing it at later time, I know Im going to end up with 8 panels but money is a issue for initial investment. #2 Do I need converter to AC from DC power, if so 1 or 2 for 8 panels #3 I know I am going with 6 volt Deep cell batteries It came with 1-12 volt about how many 6 volt batteries for maximum capacity of 6 panels. I will add more batteries with the 2 extra panels

I forwarded this to the engineer at Go Power Solar and they responded with this:
Each controller will handle ~600 watts, so with 6 panels you have reached the upper limit of the number of panels that can be added with this system. The only other options would be to hook up two separate banks of 4 panels in parallel. In order to do this the panels are wired on the roof would have to be changed from series to parallel and branch connector and extra cable would need to be purchased. All of this could be done on the roof through.
That said the easiest way would be to run one of the 4 panel kits now part # 342-75010 and then when you're ready for the total of 8 panels go ahead with a second set of the # 342-75010. Each of this kit comes with a controller capable of right at 600 watts like mentioned which is also right what the panels of each kit is capable of producing.
Each kit has an output amperage rating of 60 amps. The amount of batteries this could charge really depends on the amperage rating of the batteries and what level of a charge you are needing. For most car batteries a 10 amp charge is about ideal between balancing charge speed and quality of charge. So if you have a total of 4 car batteries for each kit you'd be putting a solid charge on them.
