TrailAir Pin Box LC158778 Installation Instructions

Question:

Did not get install instructions in the box and have 2 questions. What is the torque value of the 5/8inch bolts, and what is the dimension that is used to locate the original pin box height? This is the original pin box height plus ?? to the top flange of the TrailAir pin box. I have seen two different dimensions. Also it looks like the dimension from the king pin to the back set of holes is about 3-3/4inch longer than the stock pin box. I assume this is correct to allow movement of the jaw.

I am sorry Lippert did not include their instructions with your Lippert Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC158778 but I have included a link to them on the Lippert website.

I also linked an image of page 3 from those instructions which shows the height measurement to be taken on both the original pin box and the Trailair. The torque setting for the 5/8-inch bolts is 160 ft-lbs minimum and this information appears on page 4.

You are correct about the hole positions being different from the OEM 1621 or 1621HD pin boxes due to the Trailair's flexing action.
