Is it Possible Same Size Trailer Tire Replacement is Larger than Old Tire

Question:
I just bought a spare wheel for my trailer 4.80.12 and it seems to be larger than the wheels presently on my trailer. Is this possible? The wheels on my trailer has the same numbers printed on the side.

Most likely the size difference is due to the worn down tread of your old tires making the tire have a smaller overall diameter. How much of a difference though are you referring to?
