Does Polar Hardware Dump Door Hinge, Steel # PLR1904-Z Have Weight Capacity

Question:
What is the weight rating ball park estimate is okay of one of these hinges if it were facing hinge up bolt verticle? I am considering making a hinged cargo carrier that will swing away but carry a heavier weight rating than the ones currently offered in the market.

The Polar Hardware Dump Door Hinge, Steel # PLR1904-Z that you referenced does not have a weight rating according to my contact at Polar. The installation will largely dictate the weight this hinge will be able to handle. This hinge is made of 1/4 inch thick steel, so you most likely will be held to the strength of your weld on the 1 inch wide bracket.
