Question:

I am looking for a way to attach thule square bars to my tracrac sliding base rails. This would give me another rack layer just above the truck bed. I believe I could modify the sliding tie downs to work. Just curious if there are other ideas out there or if Thule has considered anything like this. Thanks

Thule has not yet made a roof rack style connection to work with their sliding base rails but you are not the first person to ask. Basically you can make something work, but there is not a warrantied application available or a confirmed weight rating, so it would be a one-off custom.

What you can do if you want to proceed is you can use the Replacement Modular Slider for TracRac G-2 Truck Bed Ladder Left Front/Right Rear # TA01-42003 and Right Front/Left Rear # TA01-42004 which are the replacement parts for the TracRac SR Sliding Rack. You will also want the Replacement Nylon Insert for TracRac Sliding Ladder Rack Modular Base Sliders # TAFX-42008 and knob # TAKB-90030-1. Then you would mount the complete roof rack system to these bases.

I would use the Rhino-Rack RLCP Leg Kit for OEM Fixed Mounting Points - Pad Mount - Qty 2 # RRRLCP02F and the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 71" Long - Qty 2 # RRVA180B-2. This will give you the system you desire, but you will need to customize the fit.
