Transmission Cooler Install Location for 2012 Chevy Equinox

Question:
Im looking to install a transmission cooler #D13501, 2 or 3 on a 2012 Chevy Traverse. Will a larger cooler, mounted behind the grill and in front of the radiator as recommended, cool the transmission well, but at the expense of the engine temp? what I mean is, is it going to block a lot of the air flow to the radiator and cause the engine itself to run hotter? thanks!

The great thing about modern cooling systems is that they are extremely efficient. The radiators dissipate heat really well and and the fans pull so much air that even with a transmission cooler out in front of it the vehicle will easily cool well enough. You actually want to install the cooler out in front of the AC condenser as well. Basically it needs to get the air flow first to operate well but the AC and engine will still operate just fine. For your 2012 Chevy Equinox the # D13503 would be a great choice. It's decent sized and a plate fin style cooler which is very efficient.
