Question:

Does this kit assist with the lift of the cover? My undercover tonneau cover needs an initial push before the struts take over and raise it the rest of the way. My goal is to wire in to the power tailgate and with factory key fob both the tonneau cover and tailgate open. Currently my tailgate will not open unless the Tonneau cover is raised. If it does not assist with lift would a higher force strut on the cover cause it to push up on own after unlocking?

Yes, the Pop & Lock Power Pop Remote Keyless Entry Kit # PAL9000 will both unlock and partially open your Undercover hard fiberglass tonneau cover so that the struts can do the rest. The kit includes powered latches that replace your standard ones and also two remote control key fobs and an in-cab button for two ways to operate the lock.

Please note that the kit works only on covers with the single handle, but not on covers with dual handles. It should not be wired to work from your factory fob since this would pop the cover any time you unlock the doors. You need to use the fobs that comes with the kit. I confirmed this with my tech contact at Pop & Lock.

Pop & Lock also offers an LED light kit, part # PAL9135, that gives you a high-efficiency 8-diode LED light with a 2050 lumen light output to make it easier to see and get to the items in the truck bed.
