Question:
Ok not wanting to risk having dealership damage interior to install an integrated OEM electric brake controller on my 2017 RAM 1500 or having the clutter of a dash mounted electric brake controller I really like the Echo wireless trailer brake controller. I also like the idea of using a electronic sway control system. I will be towing a 2015 Keystone 27RLS trailer approximately 6400 lbs unloaded and near 8000 lbs if fully loaded combined with the length of the trailer I will be just below the 1500s tow capacities. The two products I have in mind are: Curt Mobile Echo C51180 Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes - 1 to 4 Axles Item # 335TSC-1000 So I was looking at how to wire in both of these units, I am thinking of wiring the electronic sway controller to the trailers brakes at the Junction Box mounted on the trailer frame. My questions arise from the requirement to run the blue wire from the brake controller to the electronic sway controller which begs the question why? Does the signal override the unit or does the signal to the sway controller take the voltage input and apply the brakes accordingly? basically once the electronic sway control unit is wired in this takes all signals internally if sway is detected and externally when the electric brake control unit sends voltage through the blue wire If I just plug the trailers 7-pin connector into the wireless brake control unit as well has wire in electronic sway control unit, then it seems like the brakes will be receiving a signal from the brake controller as well has the sway controller and I am not sure if this would or would not cause problems with one or both units. Hope this makes sense but beside the longer above question/explanation it could be simplified down to how does the sway control unit process the voltage coming from the blue wire bringing coming from the electric brake control unit? Does it apply the brakes or just lets the unit know that the brakes are being applied? So instead of just plugging in the trailers 7-pin plug into the Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller I would want to go into the trailers junction box and at that point ensure that the blue wire to activate the trailer brakes is removed from that terminal and wired directly to the electronic sway control units blue wire. The Electronic Sway control unit will send the signal to the brakes under braking conditions or internally when sensing trailer sway. again hope I am making sense here in both what I am trying to do and how ensure both units are wired correctly to be used in conjunction. thank you

You can use the Curt Echo # C51180 with the Tuson Electronic Sway Control System for Electric Trailer Brakes # 335TSC-1000 that you also referenced. Essentially the Tuson Control system detects trailer sway and then applies the trailer brakes in a way that is known to reduce the sway. If the # C51180 is also applying the brakes the Tuson would override the brakes and apply them harder if needed to stop the sway.
With trailer sway if you apply just the trailer brakes while towing and experiencing sway essentially the trailer gets pulled back the brakes and the sway stops. This system essentially does that for you so that you don't have to worry about it. It will work just fine with the # C51180 and will use the same circuit for brake application without any interference or problems.
