Recommended Roof Rack for Bikes and Surfboards on a 2019 Mini Cooper 2 door

Question:

I need help!!! It appears that Mini cooper 2 door does not have factory recommended racks and therefore everything is aftermarket. I would like the best system that is the quietest and can be modified to carry two mountain bikes or 2 surf boards. I have no rail system of the roof .

I recommend Yakima aerodynamic bars part # Y01156 which are designed to cut down on wind noise with their design and wind strip on the top and bottom of the bar. You need RidgeLine towers part # Y00145, adapter part # Y03541 and fit kit part # Y06009.

The Yakima HighRoad roof bike rack part # Y02114 allows you to carry 1 bike on the roof of the Mini Cooper. The carrier is a no frame contact carrier so it will not damage the frame of your bike. The pivoting wheel hoops hold the bike by the front tire. The low profile design of the HighRoad also cuts down on wind noise. I recommend investing in the lock cores part # Y07204 to secure the bike and rack.

The Inno Locker Watersport carrier with Crossbar pads part # INA446 is the best option to carry the surfboards with your roof rack. The Inno carrier fits the round bars of the Yakima rack and includes locks to lock the carrier to the rack. The Inno Locker allows you to load the surfboards from the side of the vehicle which is easier, compared to rear loading. The Inno Locker also transports kayaks or canoes compared to other options that are only designed for surfboards and paddleboards.
