Recommended Aftermarket Brake Controller to Replace Factory Brake Controller Without Rewiring
Updated 02/26/2019 | Published 02/25/2019 >
Question:
How do you hookup an aftermarket brake controller on a 2011 gmc 3500hd with factory brake controller. I’m having issues with the factory system and would just like to bypass it all together. Do I need to run a wire to the pigtail even though I have a blue wire under the dash with the others? Any help is appreciated

We have an article on this specific fit which I've attached, however I have a much easier option for you. You can use the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller - Wireless # C51180 as long as you don't have a triple axle trailer and the controller will simply plug in and take priority over the factory system. You wouldn't need to make any changes to your truck to bypass the factory controller using this brake controller.
