How Wide of a Trailer Frame Will The Blue Ox Signature Series Underclamp Lift Brackets Fit

Updated 02/26/2019 | Published 02/24/2019

Question:

The description of this under-clamp WD lift bracket says designed for 4inch trailer frames. My frame uses 3inch square tubing. Will this work with that? Also, could you provide the relevant dimensions of the BXW4020?

The Blue Ox Signature Series Underclamp Lift Brackets part # BXW4020 will only work on trailer frames 4" tall. The width however is adjustable up to 2-1/2" using the adjustment screw which pins the clamp to the frame rail. Therefore, if your frame rail is not 4" tall or wider then 2-1/2" then these clamps will not work for you. Unfortunately, we do not have any dimensional drawings of these clamps but if you can provide me with the ones you need I would be happy to go out and measure them for you.

With that being said, if the above will not work for you then your only option would be to use a different weight distribution system, one that will accept bolt-on chain hanger brackets like the part # RP58305. These chain hanger brackets will work with pretty much any weight distribution system that uses chains on the end of the spring bars save for the Blue Ox Signature Series. I recommend the Strait-Line Weight Distribution w Sway Control like part # RP66074 because of the integrated four point sway control.

If you can provide me with your total tongue weight which is the loaded ready to tow tongue weight of your trailer in addition to any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle I would be happy to provide the correct part number for you.
