Best Trailer Hitch and Wiring for 2019 Ford Escape Titanium

Published 02/21/2019

Question:

I have a 2019 Ford Escape Titanium. I would really like a trailer hitch for this vehicle so what is the best one that isn't too exposed that you know will fit the Titanium? Also, what wiring harness?

The best trailer hitch for your 2019 Ford Escape Titanium is the Draw-Tite # 75782 because it has a concealed crosstube so it isn't exposed and is a bolt-on installation that will not require drilling into your Ford's frame to install.

This Class III, 2" trailer hitch is almost entirely hidden behind your Ford's bumper, as you can see by the accompanying photos and it will even allow you to continue to use your hands-free liftgate feature. This hitch has a 525 lb tongue weight capacity and 3,500 lb towing capacity; it will resist corrosion due to its black powder coat finish and comes with a lifetime warranty. I have added a link to a video of the Draw-Tite # 75782 being installed on an Edge for you to check out as well.

For wiring which will give you a 4-way connector and allow you to power your trailer's lights you need Wiring Harness # C56320. It is also recommended you use Dielectric Grease for Electrical Connectors # 11755 to help prevent any type of corrosion in your connector, which will increase its durability and extend its lifespan. I have attached a link showing this harness being installed on an Escape for you to take a look at. Keep in mind this is compatible with your vehicle if it does not have the factory tow package.

I also recommend checking out Ball Mount Kit # 989900, which is for 2” hitches and may fulfill your towing needs in one tidy package; two ball mounts - one with a 3/4” rise or 2” drop and the other with a 2-3/4” rise or 4” drop - a 1-7/8” hitch ball, a 2” hitch ball, and a pin and clip.
