Troubleshooting Trailer Running Light Circuit Not Working on a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500  

Question:

I have hooked it to two different trailers and have brake light and blinkers but no running lights fuse seems to be in good shape. Any help would be great!

If you are getting the same issue when your 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 is hooked up to 2 different trailers then it sounds like you have something going on with either the connector or the wiring for the running light circuit.

Attached are pictures of both a 4-Way and a 7-Way connector. Check the pin location that correlates to the running lights for corrosion or debris. Once cleaned use some dielectric grease like part # 11755 to keep the connector clean in the future.

If this doesn't fix your issue then you need to trace the wiring for the running light circuit as far as you can. Replace any sections that are bent or damaged and that should take care of your problem.

Attached is a helpful article on troubleshooting wiring that you can reference as well. If the fuse looks good as well as the connector and wiring then the next step would be to take it into a shop and have them check it for you.
