I wasn't able to find the location of a factory block heater cord on your 2009 Kia Borrego. If you weren't able to find anything in the areas you checked then your vehicle might not be equipped with one. You can verify this by checking with a local Kia dealer and providing them with your VIN. With this information they should be able to tell you exactly what the vehicle is equipped with and the location of the cord if present.
If you do not have an engine block heater then the Kat's Heaters # KH11812 will work perfectly if you have the 3.8L Engine. According to Kat's the cartridge will be installed at the RR position (see attached diagram) on the engine block, which will be at the rear passenger side when you're looking at the engine with the hood open.
