Can Current B&W Gooseneck Hitch be Used with the Companion Flatbed 5th Wheel Hitch

Updated 02/06/2019 | Published 02/05/2019

Question:

I currently have a standard truck bed but soon going to flat bed. I have an under bed gooseneck hitch and a companion slider now. To make the slider hitch work I would need quite the substantial acces door in the bed so I was looking into this hitch base. Is this designed to go into my current hitch and sit recessed in the bed? Or is it made to sit flat on the deck. Will I have to get rid of my current gooseneck hitch to go to the weld on style for flatbeds?

The B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3050 is compatible with your current B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Hitch. You just need to use the center section from your current gooseneck hitch and fabricate your own mounting system if you want to avoid using the weld-on # BWGNRK1500. I confirmed this with my contact at B&W who also said just make sure that your flatbed is steel.

Since you are already using a Companion you can actually reuse the head unit and just replace the base with part # BWRVB3055 that you referenced.
