I am trying to understand which roof boxes will fit the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars? I bought the Rhino-Rack Aero Crossbars based on the recommendations from your site but am having a hard time understanding which roof boxes will fit the best. I am looking for a roof box that is somewhat low profile and can fit skis up to 200cm.

Rhino-Rack Vortex roof rack crossbars are the aero-style which have an oval or elliptical "wing-like" shape. This bar shape is popular and most cargo boxes are designed to fit these bars along with most other shapes.

For instance, the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629906 fits aero and other bar shapes and has the interior space you need for your 200cm skis. The Motion XT can handle as many as 7 pairs of skis as long as 215cm so it will work great for you. Please have a look at the include video on this cargo box. The included diagram shows all compatible bar shapes and includes details about the fit on a vehicle with a rear hatch.

The Yakima SkyBox NX 16 carrier # Y95AV you referenced is not long enough for your skis.

I recommend considering a simple inexpensive accessory step # CAM43676 to make it easier to load and unload the box. This lightweight folding step comes fully assembled; it pops open when needed to instantly give you almost a foot of extra reach.
