Trailer Hitch Installation on 2019 Subaru Forester

Question:

I have a 2019 Subaru Forester Sport. I had a question about the installation of this hitch. Does it require me to remove the rear bumper cover and the bumper in order for install? Do I need to move the muffler and cut the heat shield as you would with the 2018 Forester?

Installing the Draw-Tite # 76271 trailer hitch that fits your 2019 Subaru Forester will not require you to remove the rear bumper cover and bumper to install.

The exhaust is going to need to be lowered for you to install it, though this is standard for most trailer hitch. As for the heat shield, yes that will need to be removed and trimmed as shown in the accompanying photo. The photo is a cut out from the installation instructions for this hitch, which are linked for you.
