Recommended Trailer Hitch for 1989 Chevy C/K Series Pickup with Roll Pan Bumper
Updated 01/27/2019 | Published 01/26/2019 >
Question:
I need a recommendation for which hitch I should get. I bought a 1989 Chevy C/K Series truck. Unfortunately it has a roll pan in it. What would be the best option to get so that I can pull a trailer while not having to take the roll pan off?

For your 1989 Chevy C/K Series Pickup I recommend the Curt Class III Trailer Hitch # 13942. This will fit your truck with the roll pan and the only slight modification you will need to do on the bumper is to cut in the license plate area so the hitch receiver can be accessed. Also please note that this hitch will only fit the 1500 models (there is not a hitch available for the 2500/3500 models with a roll pan bumper).
This is a heavy-duty Class III hitch that will provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening, a 5,000 pound towing weight capacity, and a 500 tongue weight limit. It is also made right here in the USA.
I have attached the written installation manual that you can take a look at as well.
