Question:
Hi guys, Our Tracker is set up to tow behind our motorhome. It has an Invisibrake installed with a Roadmaster 15267 wiring kit with diodes, and a 88400 Brake-lite relay. The motorhome has combined tail lights so the Tracker is set up the same way when we tow it. We use the Tracker for our everyday transportation and I installed a hitch so I can occasionally pull a trailer behind it. I am trying to set up trailer lights. I assume I will have to tie in downstream from the diodes or between the diodes and the bulbs instead of at the harness connecter. I see you have three trailer wiring kits available to convert the Tracker separate tail lights for use with a combined lights on a trailer. Looks like I could cut off the connecter and just hardwire it as described above. Does this all make sense? Will this work? Do you recommend one kit over the others or do you have any other suggestions?

Expert Reply:
The trailer wiring harness will not be affected by the Roadmaster InvisiBrake Supplemental Braking System part # RM-8700, the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit part # RM-15267, or the Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-88400 that you have on your 1999 Chevrolet Tracker. The diodes included with the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit simply stop the backflow of power therefore you can install the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness part # C55372 in the factory port without any issues. I called my contact at Roadmaster to confirm this.
