Can Curt Echo Brake Controller Replace Factory Brake Controller on 2018 Toyota Tundra

Question:
Hello, My new 2018 Tundra with Integrated Brake Control, or IBC doesnt recognize my travel trailer 2013 Evergreen Ascend when hooked up, so the trailer brakes dont work. I want to install the Echo unit. Will I need to disengage the IBC on the Tundra, so that the Trailer Not Engaged light doesnt keep flashing on the dashboard screen? Thanks so much in advance,

You will be able to use Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 in your 2018 Toyota Tundra that currently has a factory brake controller. The RF will get its power through the 12 volt circuit on your factory 7-way and also needs the pins for the left and right turn signals/brake lights to properly function so it is a perfectly viable option.
That said, I strongly recommend contacting your local Toyota dealer in regards to issues with flashing lights on your dash; based on my research there could be any number of reasons for this and I would not be able to guarantee that simply disengaging the controller will clear up what you are seeing on your dash.
