Does Adhesive of Rampage SuperBrite LED Tailgate Light Bar # RA960137 Hurt Clear Coat

Question:
Can this be applied directly to the bottom of the tailgate itself to provide better visibility and then removed sometime later without hurting the clear coat/paint?

The 3M adhesive that the Rampage SuperBrite LED Tailgate Light Bar # RA960137 uses to secure to the rear of a vehicle is safe on clear coat. Removing it later would not cause any issues with the paint.
