Range of Curt Echo Trailer Brake Controller

Question:

I’m towing a trailer behind my fifth wheel. Will the Curt Echo work with the iphone in the cab? It’s about 40 ft from the iphone to the 7 way connector on the rear of the 5th wheel.

I spoke with a representative of Curt, who told me the Curt Echo Mobile Trailer Brake Controller # C51180 has a range of 50 feet but that can vary somewhat depending on the Bluetooth capabilities of your connected smartphone.

It should be noted that even if you somehow lose connectivity as you are driving, the Echo # C51180 will still work. As you can see by the cut out I added of the linked instruction manual, it specifies "The brake control will continue to function properly at the most recently programmed settings and braking operation will not be affected."
