Question:
I NEED TO KNOW THE MINIMUM THICKNESS OF THE BRAKE PADS 12 1/4inch X 5
asked by: Roch
Expert Reply:
There is not a standard minimum brake lining thickness across all manufactures and within each state. The manufacturer will list a minimum lining depth at which they recommend replacement and so will each state. For example, on a set of 12-1/4" x 5" Dexter Electric Trailer Brakes, they recommend at least 1/16". In order to determine at what thickness the state recommends replacement, you would need to contact your local DMV or DOT.
If you have Dexter 12K Electric Braking Assemblies then you can use the Replacement Shoe and Lining part # BP04-365 for left hand side and part # BP04-375 for right hand side.
