Troubleshooting Trailer Braking that Stopped Working After Breakaway Pin Gets Pulled

Question:
The breakaway plug got hung up on my 5th wheel hitch, it stopped me plugged breakaway cord back in have no trailer brakes now

Typically a breakaway pin getting pulled does not prevent the trailer brakes from working after that. Check the condition of the connection between the battery wire of the breakaway kit and the output circuit that travels to the trailer brakes. I suspect the might be a short or some other damage to this circuit that caused a problem.
