In order to flat tow your 2016-2018 Ford Focus without adaptive cruise control I recommend starting with the Roadmaster EZ5 Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-524443-5. These base plates will give you a really clean look when installed and will work very well with the Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar w/ LED Lights - RV Mount - 8K # RM-676. This tow bar is really nice with the integrated LED lights wiring connector and safety cables.

To finish the wiring on your vehicle side, I recommend the Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152 which will splice into your Focus factory wiring to utilize it for a clean look while still protecting your vehicle electronics. If your Focus is an automatic transmission it requires fuses to be pulled when towing In which case I recommend the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch for Towed Vehicle w/ Supplemental Braking System # RM-766 which instead allows you disconnect with the push of a button. It is a very convenient option to save you from disconnecting the battery in the manner outlined in your owners manual.

For your braking system I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This braking system applies the brakes on your Focus at the same time and with the same force as you hit the brake pedal in your motorhome. This system only requires adjusting at the initial installation and then becomes a plug and play system that in my opinion is the best on the market. You also need a stop light switch kit # RM-751454 so you can monitor when the Stay-IN-Play is activating the Focus's brakes.

You will also need a high-low adapter and I've attached an article to assist with taking the measurements for the correct fit between your motorhome and Focus. I've also linked the page to the options to make it easy. With all of the parts listed I've also linked installation videos to help.

Finally, you may also be interested in the Tow Defender # RM-4750 to keep debris from hitting your Focus when towing and the Roadmaster Tow Bar Cover # RM-055-3 to keep your tow bar covered when at the campsite while still attached to the back of your motorhome.
