For your 2018 Subaru Forester XT I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III Max Frame Receiver Hitch # 76182 because it features a hidden design where only the receiver is visible beneath the vehicle. This provides you with a clean, OEM appearance unlike the other available options that will feature an exposed crosstube. I have attached an image of the hitch installed on a Forester so you can see exactly what I mean. It will not affect the EyeSight feature on the vehicle.

This is a Class III hitch with a towing weight capacity of 3,500 pounds and a tongue weight limit of 525 pounds. No drilling is required for installation but you will need to temporarily remove and trim some fascia. I have attached an installation video on the 2017 model Forester that you can use for reference. The process should be just about identical for your 2018 model.
