No Running Lights on Horse Trailer
Updated 10/16/2018 | Published 10/14/2018 >
Question:
Hello. I have a 2006 WW four horse combo stock trailer. I no longer have running lights because of a direct short that I did find. I first checked my truck electrical center and all was fine with fuses. I even swapped my other trailer to the trailer. Still no running lights. The trailer must have a popped fuse but I can find no such thing. I do have directional lights, just no running lights. Hope you can help. Thanks.

Since it sounds like you have narrowed the running light issue down to the trailer, I do have some tips for you but horse trailers don't typically have fuse boxes. If you trailer has separate turn and brake signal lights, I would first check the bulbs to make sure the filament is still intact. They can sometimes be tricky to spot as it can be a very thin break.
If the bulbs are intact then the only other option is going to be tracing the running light wire which is usually brown, back from the light assemblies to the trailer connector. If there are any breaks or shorts then you will need to repair or replace the wire as needed. I would also take a look at the trailer connector to make sure there is no corrosion and the pins are straight.
